At Bayside we have high expectations of our students. We know that students are happier and participate in their education more effectively when their ideas are listened to and their opinions are valued.
At Bayside we provide our students with the opportunity to:
- Develop leadership skills
- Play a significant and effective role in the decision-making processes of the college
- Be student leaders who act as positive role models for other students.
As a school we have an active Student Representative Council on each campus who work as one group and meet regularly to provide student voice in the life of the college and also to provide authentic opportunities for students to develop their leadership capabilities.
We also have House, Sports and Performing Arts Captains who take an active role in promoting, running and developing these important features of our extra-curricular programs. The college is an active participant in many debating, public speaking, artistic and writing competitions throughout the year that both challenge and inspire our students to push their limits and further develop their skills.
This is supported by Leadership development opportunities and programs that are open to all students that are delivered across the year.
All students are encouraged to participate in at least one of our extra-curricular programs.
