Why our Middle School?
At Bayside, our Middle School caters to students from Year 7 through to Year 9, offering a dynamic and supportive environment that prepares them for success.
All middle school students participate in the Voyager Program, which focuses on:
- Explicitly teaching students how to learn effectively
- Challenging students to take ownership of their learning
- Offering opportunities for student leadership
- Fostering critical skills such as questioning, research, analysis, and the application of knowledge, preparing students to contribute as responsible global citizens
Bayside has two Middle School campuses: one at Altona North and the other at Williamstown, ensuring accessibility for all students in our community.
The Bayside Middle School Program has been thoughtfully designed to:
- Address the unique learning needs of middle school students
- Emphasize core academic subjects to build a strong foundation
- Provide clear pathways into our Senior Campus (Paisley) and beyond
We offer three distinct Middle School pathways:
- Traditional Program – A comprehensive academic program combined with the Voyager Program for a balanced, well-rounded experience.
- Select Entry – The Academic Achievers Program, tailored to meet the needs of highly capable students, offering advanced academic challenges.
- Tennis Program – For tennis enthusiasts, students spend approximately 22 hours per fortnight in on-court training, competition, tactical sessions, strength and conditioning, nutrition, and sports psychology, alongside 28 hours in the Academic Achievers Program.
At Bayside P-12 College, we aim to provide each student with the tools, skills, and opportunities to thrive academically, personally, and as leaders.
